Two editions of MAD have been published in France. The first was began in 1965 and produced just 8 issues. A different publisher tried again in 1981, but again, they only produce 8 issues. What happened? The material I see in these issues is straight out of the US edition but translated into French. Didn’t they get it? Was it too American? I’d love to hear from someone who actually bought and read these issues in France.
