sweden_gm_e0MAD began publication in Sweden in 1960 making it the second oldest non-US publications behind the UK MAD. Four different publishers were involved with Svenska MAD. Publication has ceased as of January 2002. Most of the material was translated from the American versions. There were lots of local covers. Some of the covers and material were shared with the Danish, Norwegian and Finnish MADs.
Looking over the Swedish MADs in this collection, it seems that the Swedes have given MAD their own special twist. They seem to have given their own special interpretation of “MAD” and made it their own.

MAD has been around for a long time in Sweden. There have to be some adults who have grown up with MAD and can share their story. How was MAD accepted in Sweden? Who read it? What do you know about the Swedish version of MAD?
